A Bird Came Down the Walk

Paraphrase :
The main idea of the poem is the beauty of a bird and how it spontaneously reacts
While the poet was walking on the pavement a bird came on the ground .It didn't know that the poet saw it . The bird found a worm which it ate immediately . It then went to the grass to drink from the dew on it .When it saw a beetle pass it stood aside to let it pass . While the bird was looking around quickly it saw the poet watching it . Its eyes were filled with fear ,though they were shinning like jewels . It moved its smooth head as if someone in danger . The poet tried to be friendly by offering it crumbs of bread . It then spread its wings and flew away home .It did it quietly and smoothly just like the oars of a boat that travel in the ocean or the butterflies that jump around without a sound .
